The alt/rock band Petroleum causes controversy with new war themed music video
The pre-release of Alternative/metal rock band Petroleum's new music video, titled Media Deconstruction" causes split reaction amongst die hard fans.
The video which depicts protest over the US/ IRAQ war has resulted in negative feedback from some of the bands most loyal fans.
Negative letters from fans and media reviewers have prompted the band to tell their side of the story.
Singer/guitarist frontman Braden, issued this statement, he said This video was never meant to convey a message that we are unpatriotic or against war in general. We merely wanted to state that part of living in a free society gives you the right to question your governments choices on important issues. If you were an IRAQI citizen, you would never be able to do this without serious consequence. My own personal reason for writing this song was that I felt like the truth, or the real reasons for wanting to go to war with IRAQ were not being told. The media was being used to keep the public informed with what ever they were told to say. Myself and the other members of the band are not against war, sometimes it is necessary to protect our freedom and way of life. One thing we do agree on is that war should always be the alternative, and every means possible should be explored to resolve the issue before going to war. In addition, our government should never lie to the people when it comes to a decision like this. We appreciate and support our troops efforts, we hope for their safety and quick return to our country."

State Officials Seek Solution to Massachusetts Mortgage Foreclosure Crisis
In response to the record number of home foreclosures filed in Massachusetts during 2006, state legislators and housing experts are eagerly seeking new reforms in existing legislation that would seek to provide homeowners with more options when faced with an impending foreclosure.
Many attribute this sudden spike in foreclosures to the proliferation of sub-prime and adjustable rate mortgages, which provide loans to borrowers with bad credit and little money to put towards a down payment. During the housing market surge that peaked roughly three years ago, lenders were eager to capitalize on the demand for real estate by pushing sub-prime mortgages at astonishingly low initial costs.

"Diary of My Divorce From a Depressed Stoner": New Book Provides Support for the Non-Depressed Spouse
Long Beach, Calif. (PRWEB) April 8, 2008 –- The new book 'Diary Of My Divorce From a Depressed Stoner' by author Alex Ford provides a heartfelt memoir of how one woman survived the breakdown of her marriage to a man who suffers from severe depression and an addiction to marijuana. Her journal reveals how she made the difficult choice to leave a man she loved but could not save. She turns 40 and asks herself one question - is this the person she wants to spend the next 40 years of her life with? When the kids are gone and the baton pass stops and they actually have to spend time together? And sadly enough, the answer was no.
Excerpt from Book:
Unsent letter to Adrian: "So here we are mid-divorce. Here’s my question: What came first, the pot smoking or the detachment? I will claim that your 'excessive' pot smoking throughout the years caused me to detach and pursue things independently because I felt I lacked a partner. You will claim my detachment encouraged your pot smoking and drinking. And so it goes round and round. The bottom line is about three years ago we detached."
Over the course of the year, following her decision to part ways, she experiences lows when dealing with the emotions of extracting from an already depressed man, financial concerns, and self-doubt about her decision. She experiences highs in the way of stronger family ties, new friendships, several romances, an exciting career, meaningful coincidences, a newfound spirituality, and a deep sense of commitment to living life fully and taking charge of her destiny.

1 Doctor, 100 Days, 1,000 Personal Health Records
Whole Health Management (WHM), a leading operator of on-site health clinics and wellness centers, has enrolled the first 1,000 patients in its iHealth personal health record (PHR) and online communication service from its one-physician clinic in San Diego, Calif. The 1,000 PHR milestone in 100 days by a single physician is particularly historic when contrasted to the less than one percent uptake of online PHR services offered by most health plans.
Whole Health is providing employees in its San Diego clinic and elsewhere with a secure online service including patient to clinic email and an easy-to-use PHR that is accessible at all times and locations, across the continuum of care, including emergencies. The service, iHealth, provides employees with online and interactive patient education and wellness programs integrated into the PHR. Also integrated into the iHealth PHR is a proprietary, interactive and actionable Health Risk Assessment (HRA) and secure clinic-employee email. This allows patients to access their own records and provide them in any healthcare location where they seek care, including emergency departments. The service also allows employees to exchange secure email with Whole Health clinics 24 hours a day from home or while traveling. To promote a more comprehensive picture of patient health, Whole Health is working with key community physicians and hospitals to encourage them to recognize, offer and update the iHealth PHR for employees cared for by Whole Health.
SaveMeFromForeclosure.com Applauds Passage of Mortgage Forgiveness Debt Relief Act to Help Homeowners Trying to Stop Foreclosure
Today SaveMeFromForeclosure.com, LLC announced their sincere appreciation to the White House and Congress for their swift action in passing the Mortgage Forgiveness Debt Relief Act of 2007. This new legislation will make a huge impact on the millions of Americans who are under financial stress from increasing mortgage payments, the declining real estate market and potential foreclosure.
The Mortgage Forgiveness Debt Relief Act of 2007, HR 3648, protects homeowners from paying taxes on cancelled mortgage debt. This means that homeowners who have fallen behind on their mortgage and owe more than what their home is worth can often times have their debt cancelled through what is called a short sale. A short sale occurs when a lender agrees to write off the portion of a mortgage that is higher than the value of a home, provided there is a buyer willing to purchase the property. Short sales are often a good tool to help homeowners stop foreclosure.

InventHelp® Clients Invent Basketball Practice Tool to Improve Shooting
InventHelp®, America's leading inventor service company, announces that two of its clients, inventors from Fennville, Mich., have developed a new practice device that would encourage basketball players to shoot with more arc. This invention is patented and a prototype is available.
While most conventional basketball practice aids are designed to improve shooting, very few of them help players to shoot with greater arc. The "Shot Dr." would be used to do both. Following the proven principle that increased arc leads to greater accuracy, this device would compel players to put more arc on their shots. Ideal for use in shooting drills, the Shot Dr. may be used by players of all ages and skill levels.
Designed by a pair of high school basketball coaches and put to functional use in practice, the Shot Dr. would consist of a circular steel or plastic piece that measures 3 inches high, ¼ inch thick and 17 inches in diameter. Extending downward from the bottom of the unit would be a series of brackets that would allow the device to be attached to the top of a standard basketball hoop rim. Because the unit would feature a smaller diameter than the rim, players would be forced to shoot a basketball with a greater amount of arc in order to get it to go in.
InventHelp® is attempting to submit the invention to companies for review. If substantial interest is expressed, the company will attempt to negotiate for a sale or royalties for the inventor. For more information, telephone Dept. 03-DET-1916 at (800) 851-6030. Learn more about InventHelp® and their Invention Submission services at http://www.inventhelp.com.
