The U.S. Department of Labor has included salary information from this survey in its 2006–2007 edition of the Occupational Outlook Handbook (OOH), the government’s official career-guidance publication. The online publication is updated every two years.
This latest edition of OOH was released December 31. Under salary information, career seekers find the book’s reference: “Median annual earnings of salaried chiropractors were $69,910 in May 2004. The middle 50 percent earned between $46,710 and $118,280 a year. In 2005, the mean salary for chiropractors was $104,363, according to a survey conducted by Chiropractic Economics magazine.”
Chiropractic Economics conducts the only comprehensive salary and expense survey in the profession. The first survey results were published in 1998. The magazine also conducts an annual fees and reimbursements survey in the spring of every year.
The 9th Annual Salary Survey is currently being conducted. Practicing chiropractors can provide input by completing the online questionnaire, available at www.ChiroEco.com. Results of the 2006 survey will be published in Issue 6 of the magazine, due out in late April.
