Innovative Web 2.0 Contest Links Everyday Words to Videos

EyeLink, an early stage startup focused on connecting web users with informative videos produced by everyday experts, announces an innovative video contest with multiple cash prizes. Contestants upload videos on words or phrases of their choice. Every time that word appears across every Web page, it's linked to the topic video. By 2008, EyeLink aims to have 1 million users download and install its free plug-in giving advertisers unlimited access to highly targeted prospects. Contest videos must be submitted by November 30, 2007.

"EyeLink gives web users the instant ability to dig deeper and immediately learn more about a word or phrase without being forced to sift through thousands of meaningless search results," said Mike Wilson, founder and CEO of EyeLink. "Video producers gain a worldwide forum to share their knowledge and become the recognized expert on every topic, while advertisers benefit by capitalizing on highly contextualized search."

The EyeLink platform includes a plug-in that installs in a Web browser. Upon activation, words or phrases with an associated video are instantly highlighted upon cursor rollover on every web page across the Internet, regardless of server-side participation. Clicking on a highlighted item launches the EyeLink player.

Contest participants can upload a video and then send it to friends to rate it. Not sure how your production rates? Check out the competition by watching their videos. Upload as many videos on as many topics as you choose. Contest ends November 30, 2007.
