8-year-old Author Talks to Oprah and Montel about Her New Book and Creative Writing Campaign

Eight-year-old prodigy Adora Svitak will appear on both The Oprah Winfrey Show and The Montel Williams Show to talk to parents and teachers about her book, “Flying Fingers: Master the Tools of Learning Through the Joy of Writing” and her campaign to inspire children to write and read.

The Oprah Winfrey Show (NBC) will run on Monday, 25 April 2006.

The Montel Williams Show (CBS) will run on Tuesday, 9 May 2006.

Adora Svitak -- who Diane Sawyer called, “A tiny literary giant” -- writes over 420,000 words of fiction and non-fiction for the last two years. Her first book, “Flying Fingers” (ISBN 1888045191), was published by Action Publishing (www.actionpublishing.com) at age seven.

Adora frequently appears at schools, bookstores and libraries to demonstrate her literary skills and motivate children to use creating writing to understand and influence the world around them.

In “Flying Fingers” she uses her own short stories to illustrate her writing and vocabulary tips. Her co-author, Joyce Svitak, adds coaching advice for parents and teachers. Adora welcomes opportunities to speak with children, parents and media about the importance of writing and education.
